And surely no other software developers would be so unethical as to try to 'game' the review system by having their employees and friends post reviews. Ahem. Well, let's just leave that lay, shall we? And let's appreciate the fact that Apple seems to have done something about the people who were sending their apps to the top of the lists by putting spaces in front of their names. At least, I am no longer sure how the apps are ordered at all. That's probably a step in the right direction. So bravo, Apple, and bravo, reviewers!

Some Reviews Are In
Well the early Moonlight Mahjong reviews are in on the iTunes App Store, and they are good. And no, the reviewers are not connected with Midnight Martian in any way; so thank you, whoever you are. Reviews are critically important to this new software "ecosystem".

Looks like a cool app! I'm about to buy it, but I want to know if you plan on (or maybe its already there, I don't know yet) having changeable background images. Being able to use your own pictures would be pretty cool. Congrats on the most inventive Mahjong game on iPhone!
Joshua: Yes indeed, that's part of the plan. It's all subject to change of course, but broadly speaking the development plan at this point is something like this:
1) Support more and custom layouts
2) Support more and custom tile art
3) Support more and custom backgrounds
I'm not sure yet if you'll be able to use pictures from your iPhone photo library. But at least, I want to support using images from a web page. We'll see what's possible.
Thanks for the question and the compliment.
You took great care in designing your interface.
The touch gestures are easy, effective, and actually add something to gameplay -- they aren't just there because it's a touch screen and you could.
I am very very pleased with how it works.
A blast to play. I never have to worry about small tiles or looking behind towers.
We did work hard on the user interface. It's gratifying that people 'get' it.
Truth be told, the UI does still have a couple minor twitches that need to be smoothed out. I see them, and will eventually fix them.
Hi Michael.
I just wanted to leave a comment to congratulate you on your superb application. I got the free version because, well, it was free, and I was so impressed that I bought the full version because I wanted to support you in your efforts. You've made a sweet game, offered a fully functional free version so we can try it out, and didn't charge a bullshit price for the full version. Well, consider me a fan then.
I left you some glowing reviews on the iTunes store, and I look forward to seeing what updates might be applied to this app in the future.
Adrian
P.S. I'm running the app on a 1st gen iPhone that I just installed the 2.0 firmware on using the Pwnage application. In case you had any doubts on the matter, your apps work fine on unlocked phones.
Thank you. I really appreciate all the kind reviews on the App Store. Rest assured, updates are on the way.
